Friendly Fires - Friendly Fires

Those who watch "The Rapture" as the best band of this decade that need to love Friendly Fires debut.
because the band is presented in the style of New York, groove, and each song goes in the legs. Then there are the rock bass lines and the lone voice of the singer, who is supported only in some places by a chorus.
completely in the 80's-style album is because you hear disco-rock at its finest.
Unfortunately, the album (only 30 min.) Very short and not every song is worth mentioning. This brings us even with the weakness of the album: Actually, you can just as well the singles that included the songs "Paris", "Photo Booth", "On Board" buy.
Then you have really had enough Friendly Fires, for we must take the band to one in protected: If the album for over an hour, if you were annoyed and bored with the always-like wall of sound of the band.
The Strongest Song is definitely "on board", with its incredible groove, catchy melody and his synthesizer guitar chaos of the song clearly number one.
Unfortunately, the song shows the weakness of a typical pop songs - the chorus is repeated ten thousand times.
A nice album song that is not on single words have, "White Diamonds". It begins with a groovy bass line, plus a faster pace. The chorus of the song goes into a soft chorus of which, however, each time heard loud and aggressive, but is also danceable.
More is not to say the short LP, I give 6 / 10 points

Talking Animals

After this year already, the teen "Bombay Bicycle Club" a huge success with its melancholy-tinged, post-punk indie-pop had (although they have released an album!), Diving on myspace more and more bands that produce similar sounds.
The best known of these bands is definitely "Inflatable Mystery Parade", but I will devote myself today an even more obscure, contract-less band that has it, I think deserves.
Talking Animals.
soft indie pop, a sound tinged with sadness, quick, even almost punk beats. During make Bombay Bicycle Club
even more guitar-driven music, writing Animals Talking virtually every note with text - something normally would sound horrible, but the insert soft and sometimes a bit bored voice of the singer can be seamlessly integrated into the overall work of art "music of Talking Animals," and therefore this band potential.

Vessels - White Fields & Open Devices

order to satisfy the post-rockers I write a review for the debut album of the Band "Vessels", "White Fields & Open Devices".
It is not surprising that among the friends of the band generally popular artists of the English math-rock scene as "Cats and Cats and Cats" or "iLiKETRAiNS". Vessels promise Experimental Post-Rock, and they also offer.
The record begins quietly, with a long "Altered Beast", the climax is at the end of the piece. This is followed by "A Hundred Times in Every Direction", the first vocal period we achieved, tension is built up by the hysterically fast, but still quiet drumming. Then comes the climax, the piece explodes, a synthesizer sets in, plays the highest notes, and it will rock. Without much melody is cut on the tools built aggressiveness, and is slowly reduced. Now we hear
"Happy Accident", which unfortunately one extreme of the previous piece, is - quiet in the beginning, loud in the middle, at the end of quiet again, which seems so far the only scheme of Vessels song-writing to be very disappointing.
now uses a hidden chanting and the music will disappear quietly in the background. Something different?
No.
because it is followed by a loud banging noise again, it feels like to come so far in an opera that highlights the most predictable time, and why you fall asleep in his cozy armchair opera.
"An Idle Brain and the Devil's Workshop "is louder than the other pieces, this time it seems that the Höhpeunkt to take a long time, but this time there are at least a hint of beautiful melodies in the instrumental area.
one wonders know that you have a good start mess for a bit then through song-writing so that it can sound just like the others - because, even though the song should sound dramatically at the beginning, are in the middle again right to turn up the amplifier, which then takes the usual one and a half minutes, then taken down and now starts the period of the so far best album
beautiful post-rock melodies and drumming in the background, it rustles disordered -. A wonderful atmosphere is created, as it was previously not on the album by manageable.
that perplexes me, as the next song "Walking Through Walls" by no means again an explosion of force and aggression, but also a beautiful beginning, wnnauch now with vocals, as does the end of his predecessor.
Electro beats are slowly introduced to the Chinese kiling additional cymbals. Shortly
increases also an acoustic guitar, stop the electro beats, and the drummer starts properly - but he does not have much time, because shortly thereafter, there is a beautiful acoustic solo guitar.
We are now arrived back at the point at which the electronic beats use - We arrived at the chorus.
The electro beats take over now, towards the end of the command, and the song stops rather suddenly.
goes with dark sounds on it, synth waves create a black atmosphere, get rid of hope. Quiet, arrhythmic drum beats a share, and eventually the band.
"Trois Heures" has begun.
A dramatic results, but it will stop soon - The old game.
Towards the end it wid crying out loud, as we have known Vessels-songwriting in the beginning.
with "Look at that Cloud!" followed by a quiet, spherical sounds, and at the end of guitar, some song.
Probably one notices me, that I me while writing this review a bit boring and long for the end. But excuse me, but that's not my fault but that of the album.
A weak drive that is not really deserved to reviewing it, but I expected more.
is the sober realization:
bad drives, there must be even, so you can consider the others as well.
This, together with 4.5/10 points for "White Fields & Open Devices" I wish you a nice day.

Un Peu. De New Bands. Sur La. Terre - William

William
Ever dreamed of a cross between Bloc Party, The Strokes and the Beatles?
There, in the big wide world of MySpace, there is a small label from Coventry, with the beautiful name of "Tough Love Records.
There, in the wide world of small labels, there is a small 3-man band from London, with the vile name 'William'.
This band with the name makes vile, garage music.
At first glance.
Also on the second. listen
But the third time, the post-punk sounds like a by a bit since the band is comparable to the successful "Cinematics", but in quality are worlds apart.
For 'William' is better, and that because they are individual, not want to sound like Interpol (the was with the "Cinematics" for me a big problem, especially in "Break").
Some remember the guitar riffs are hard songs from Bloc Party's Silent Alarm era, also the drummer adapts to it.
But the song has a completely different level than Orekekes Kele, who has a better voice for the world to music.
But that's the attraction William's, the Anarchist singing, screaming like in "Be Your Own Pet," and sometimes, in quiet songs like "South of the Border" breathy, almost sweet, and at the same time threatening the sound is there.
because the song is often hard because the instrumental is the main and sometimes the singer drowned.
In the quotations on the MySpace page was to read the usual praise of great magazines, which are an unknown band is good, but as long as no hype created around them, not pay any attention.
now stands there but this is a small, sober, provocative outsider set, which I believe is true for exactly the band, and their quality describes better than Drowned voted in sound description as the guitars of the band are.
This is a sentence:
"'Self In Fiction' is a Mercury Music Prize winner in a fair world."
The debut album of London's three-man crew has 10 tracks and On 7 July was published in 2008.
There is only one word to say about the LP:
Fantastic.

When Do Driver's License Expire Ohio

Bloc Party - Intimacy

Bloc Party - Intimacy
Recently, it has apparently become a trend to make an album release so unusual action that you get three times the attention. Radiohead made it that way, Nine Inch Nails, and now Bloc Party. That the
London with their 3-Day Announcement have shot down the bird should be obvious, but justifies the album's attention? Of course, 5 pounds for the download is not much, but are only ten songs on the album, for 10 pounds you get with the CD, however, two more songs to which the impatient fan until 27 October has to wait, because only then will reach the top of the shops. Since only the download is available to me there is nothing
choice but to comment on it.
"What's that?" Ask Bloc Party faithful fans since the release of the single "Mercury". The answer - the new ideas of the band around Kele Orekeke, and these are absorbed on the first song of the album, "Ares".
As' Electro Beat Street "decried the new style of post-punk is still no more development, but simply over-produced, so supporters.
But you have to listen to the new style, after the third passage one can see the "Ares" one of the best songs from the new album, and that makes the album far from weak. After
"Ares" and the hit song "Mercury" following "Halo" and "Biko". The former of the latter two will probably be a return to Silent Alarm - inconsistency, and so it sounds as the song also calculated, sounds good in the beginning, but does not hang, and acts like an over-produced pop song.
stands in complete contrast, "Biko", a song that A Weekend In The City with the new style combines a quiet, beautifully melancholy Bloc Party song by the guitar playing Bloc Party's typical in such songs (eg "On") with a single, completely flat voice recorded phrase "I Can not Do this Alone, "paired. That sounds wonderful, and is a consolidation of the new style of intimacy.
You notice well that I never speak of intimacy, but always on the new style of intimacy. The biggest weakness of the album is the Unkonsequenz the band, the new style, although many fans may not like him to follow through completely. At its debut Silent Alarm
had no problem with the band because they have had few followers, but now Bloc Party are probably afraid to lose something.
The second single, "Trojan Horse", is a reflection of this fear - a boring song with a lot of guitar solos - the lack of "Mercury" has been criticized. With the change
New Style - Old Style is more there, on the "Trojan Horse" follows with "Signs" a typical A Weekend in the City-song, an imitation of good songs like "Waiting for the 7:18" or "On" but not the worst song of the album.
Perhaps it appear, however, and the only good "Back-To-The-Roots' song," One Month Off "and all this in a better light, but take the last three songs of the album at all good in one direction.
"Zepherus" makes as a perfect start, but once again an example of the undecided back-and-forth, for here we have another song of the new style presented. A church choir in the background creates a dark atmosphere, electro beats and Kele Orekeke do the rest. A fitting song play in which Orekeke repeatedly emphasized the phrase, "And all you said in your voice quitest what 'I'm needing you as much as they do'," a catchy chorus to sing along well, a beautiful melody - A very good song.
The penultimate song "Better Than Heaven" is again a new style of A Weekend in the City mix, once again, this combination succeed completely.
But the real hit of the album is also the end last song, "Ion Square". started with keyboards, electro beats and Orekeke-breath singing this song has long been a wonderful beginning.
One minute it goes so on, then uses a behavior, bizarre bass player, and a distorted guitar in the background that aggressiviert the dark atmosphere again.
And then begins the refrain: Text secure sings Kele again a great Bloc Party tune, the guitar enhances the drama of the play, behavior, and then comes the real drummer. A faster rhythm sets in, and while Kele completely calm continues his singing the song increases in its drama, a subdued chorus in the background sets in, and now also Kele dramatic what follows the chorus again. And then even the guitar solo in the background.
A wonderful piece, a wonderful end, and despite back-and-forth feelings it creates "Ion Square" make the image more positive. A wonderful album. Therefore, I give 9 / 10 points

Errors - It's Not Like Something But It Is Like Whatever

Errors
very title of the album of the Glasgow mathrock "Errors" shows that they do not like texts. However, the example shows Foals that you can have with minimalist lyrics mass success. The mass success Errors have probably not because they are much less than the Indie Foals. Much less indie. By that I mean to say that the influences of pop in the Errors very low and they are limited to less lines of text as above mentioned example. Errors do not sing. The album of the four boys is still a secret, probably an eternal, but the music of the Scots is just great. Great guitar "riffs" and guitar passages, brilliant melodies and also the influence of Afro-beat is clearly visible. The singing in this text I have mentioned many times probably, and I myself come from something bizarre that I had in terms of a band that had absolutely no singer, this verb use as often. But even in this case is the singing to mention again, because on Track 7, "Catlery Drawer" to the chant of a woman is used as a stylistic device, which is sometimes refreshingly different when you hear no other album in the whole song. Here are the errors even sound almost a bit like the French lo-fi indie band The Teenagers. In general the Glasgow, the mixture is achieved - louder tracks like "Salut France!" And quieter as perfect, "Crystal Maze" complement, d
he is a synthesizer in places where you would expect, and where he still undoubtedly belongs.

Errors - Salut! France
Dir: Danny McConnell

are the only weak point of the 10-track LP that much too long songs "Pump" and "A Lot of Things You Do not Is not". You notice here that write the four long songs deliberately did what they probably do not seem to lie. Overall I give 8.5/10 points.
